Clinics & Services

Treatment Room

The treatment room is open 9am – 11:50am Monday to Friday. Appointments are necessary and can be made through reception. A qualified nurse will be in attendance offering services which include dressings, injections, suture removal, advice and dealing with referrals from the GP’s. Their aim is to provide and efficient quality service in a caring and helpful manner.

Child Health/Immunisation

Childhood vaccinations are administered by our practice Nurse L Lucas. All 8 weeks vaccinations will be given at the 8 week baby check in a double appointment by your GP. All other childhood vaccinations will be given by Nurse Lucas in one of her clinic days. Please booked in advance for these appointments.

Antenatal services

The practice is registered to provide full maternity, contraceptive and family planning services (excluding fitting of coils). Make an appointment with the doctor through our reception staff as soon as you think you are pregnant. Please state when you are making your appointment if it is for an antenatal or postnatal check.

There is a midwife led antenatal clinic on Wednesday 9.30am – 11.00am. Appointments can be made in usual way through reception.

Breast Screening

If you are a woman over 50 years old, you will receive an appointment every 3 years from the Breast Screening Programme based in Lurgan Hospital inviting you to have a mammogram. The doctors in this practice would recommend breast screening.

Minor Surgery

The doctors carry out various procedures by arrangement with patients, often avoiding the need for hospital consultations.

Diabetic Assessments

Regular assessment checks are carried out jointly by the GP and Practice Nurse. Diabetic patients are contacted by post for regular assessments.

Cervical Cytology

It is very important for all women between 20 and 65 to have a cervical smear test every 3 years. There are many ‘early’ stages of cervical cancer and if picked up early this totally curable by simple treatment and no large operation is necessary.
This procedure is carried out by the Practice Nurse who is available by appointment through reception.

Flu Vaccinations

The practice recommends that the elderly and those with diabetes, asthma or heart disease have flu vaccinations in the Autumn. Appointments for flu vaccination are usually sent in the post to those who are eligible.

Secondary Coronary Screening Clinic

This clinic is by appointment only and because of requirements for blood testing prior to the day of the clinic, patients needing to attend are contacted at regular intervals by post.

Hypertension Clinic

Our Hypertensive patients whose blood pressure is under control are monitored by our Practice Nurse. Check-ups are best done annually.
